Considering at the customer’s design brief, this was the best use of the space using existing feature where necessary.

The general concept was to try and make the experience more of a journey and to order the space using the well as a central feature. But it wasn’t central..... that has been disguised by shifting the centre line by spacing ‘left’ with the espalier fruit tree frame.

The idea of the ‘well’ central focal point is it’s used like a round-about for navigating the garden and also the points indicate North, East, South and West, a feature I thought quite neat.

Depth of planters will create a feeling of space front to back by having a corridor of planting.
